Blue Nose at the Southern

The Blue Nose gang went down with John Batty Racing to enter the Southern 100 down at Castletown, Isle of Man.

Teppi and Tunis were moaning that they hadn’t got a barrow for the races!  Poppy suggested that they fix the two bikes they do have  together somehow.  He reconed it would look like a sidecar outfit from a distance. Three of the mechanics went off to find some tools in John’s tool box.  Bday kept look out while spanner and co. got some bits.

And some tools.

They worked all night but appeared with it held together with a rubber band. Hector wasn’t conviced.

They pootled off to wait for the scrutineerig to open on Monday.

Poppy had his novice vest on ready.  They had their clothing scrutineered at the sighning on the night before.

They were a little early.  Hector McGuinness went with them to supervise things.  Eventually a scrutineer arrived and checked the bikes over.

Poppy’s bike passed but unfortunately Teppi and Tunis didn’t get theirs through.

They weren’t very happy but had to take them back. Tunis said it was Poppy’s fault they didn’t get in.  Teppi and Tunis thought that they might get around it by strapping themselves together!

They still didn’t get in.

Poppy did well in his race and won!! Teppi said the fact that he was the only teddy with a Suzuki SV650 Mini Mini twin, might have had something to do with this.  He said it didn’t matter and he got a podium finish so nah nah!! They was only jealous. But He did let them share the podium.

Poppy was even asked for an autograph!!

That was the only race the teddies could persuade the organisers to give them so they decided to help out with marshalling.  They already had their novice vests that would double as marshal vests. Teppi, Tunis and Poppy all trundled off to Ballabeg for the morning session on Thursday.

Teppi learned how to do the flags.

 and Tunis pulled.

And poppy thought that he might become a paramedic.

After Dinner they got moved to stadium because they were a little short.  The teddies wondered if they would be short enough?

They discovered that Sean The Deputy Sector Marshal took his marshals out for a drink afterwards so he became their best mate

The teddies were well impressed by all the marshals and was really pleased that such lovely people were out there keeping the races going so well.  Thanks for having a bit of fun with us.

Blue nose racing joined John Batty Racing racing at the presentation in castletown.

.

Poppy joined John on stage to collect the finishers plaque.

After this the Blue Nose Racers got a little bit drunk and got tangled up with the Dunlop brothers, which meant that they got put to bed before  it turned into an international incident.

See  you soon when we’ve sobered up!!
