Hi
Back out again. This time a change of venue, Elvington Nr
York. Arrived on the Saturday in what we
thought was good time, only to find we couldn’t get into the paddock
because they had a Super car track
day. We sat and watched for a few
hours. Anyway we eventually got into the
paddock and set up in the rain.

Then I went to the
village pub and met my mates, Sam and Rich. Sunday came and I felt quite
nervous when I got up. I went out in the
first practice with John so he could show me the lines and braking points (that
I was supposed to use).

Even though John said
that he took it easy, he still left me behind. (or was I just slow??)
I was in three
different classes, 600s, 1300 and formula libre. I didn’t do too well in the
600s and the 1300s. I kept getting
lapped and collided with someone. I
nearly got knocked off but I managed to save it! Just bent my clutch
lever.
Ah well.

It was the Libre I
was bothered about. I was on the front
row of the grid, with Pete Smith. What a
feeling! Even better, they put John on
the third row.

His face was a
picture when I tootled past him to take my place on the front row!! All I could think about as John said no
matter where you are on the grid, try to get on the outside for the first
corner. When the flag dropped , guess
what I did? Yeah, I shot off the line
and went for the left, but little did I know that John was going for the same
spot and I held him up. (sorry
nob). I was leading my class for a while
until I messed up the shekain and got very close to a big bail , oops!!

I would like to say
well done to John on winning his class and sorry to Martin Atkinson for not
helping his championship.
A massive thanks to
Spam for helping me out. You made it a
lot easier , having someone there when I came in.

Finally, it was great
to see my Auntie Helen and Uncle Ian and my best mate Liam. Even if they tried
to nick my bike after they had a couple of beers.

Well even after all
that went on, I had a good day and can’t wait to be back on 4th
October.
