MANX GP
First Practice 2009

Hi Folks,

Here at the ‘GP’ at last!!

Finally got our section under way at 7.35 p.m.  Inaugural lap on ‘Salt’ round the TT Course!!  The bike felt good, strong and handled well.  Only had one moment at Rehn Cullen on the first lap, when I lost my foot off the right peg with ‘Salt ‘in the air! The second lap was a bit tricky as the light was drawing in.  I almost hit the curb on the run into Alpine, as I couldn’t see It.!  Many ‘lack of adhesion’ Flags out so I thought that it was raining!  Almost dark as I crossed the line at the end of practice.

Unofficial times.   23.38 = 97 mph First lap

23.18          = 96 mph  Second lap

Faster than last year and the fastest I since 2002!!

Well done ‘Salt’ and all the crew.  Nice to have the girls here Leonie and Willow.  See you all Monday.

John

The Blue Nose Racers didn’t have enough experience to race at the Manx GP So they decided to just support John.  Under Hectors direction they decided to cut the hedge and watch at Union Mills.

Poppy said that he should be down cutting the hedge not chucking his weight around.       Hector said it wouldn’t be his weight he was chucking if he got down off the hedge.

The mechanics

Wanted to know why they always had to do the clearing up??

Once they got up there, somebody had put a lamppost in the way.  Poppy noticed the Railway across the road so they decided that was a much better place to watch from.  The Mechanics mumbled something about all that graft for nowt and look at the size of the hedge!!

In the meantime they decided to go down to the airport to collect the girls with John and Curly.  On the way back they stopped at the Fairy Bridge to speak to the fairies.  Hector had met a pretty blond one at Laxey and was hoping to bump into her again.

Hector got himself a date and the Blue nose posed for photos.

Poppy mumbled something about he always knew that Hector was a fairy!

Luckily only Nelly, his spanner man heard him.  He was tittering about it for ages.

Bagpus showed Leonie how to shout for the fairies.

Then when they went back to the camp everyone had clubbed together to get Bagpus a new T-shirt  since he was no longer Lord Libre everyone thought he should have a new one.

Presented by Leonie

Blue Nose Racers didn’t know what a leg-end was but they clapped anyway.

They all ended up in the Church yard to watch the racing in the end.

Guy Platter appeared to join them.  He is rumoured to be looking for a new team and he had been seen sneaking into the Railway earlier with Hector.  Poppy didn’t look too happy about it.  Mind you, Guy is a nice chap and they had a great time with him in Elvington.

There was a bit of a delay in racing so Poppy, Tunis and Teppi decided to let the girls teach them how to do the worm.

Leonie wasn’t too impressed; Willow said their bums looked a bit big. Tunis was the best.

Teppi got a bit nervous when Leonie started doing girlie things with him.  Poppy fell about laughing when she approached him with some lip gloss. They were pleased when the racing started.  Whew!!!

Just a few pics.  The light was bad, due to the late time; Blue Nose Racers just thought that Curly was having a crap day with the camera.

Oh No, where do we go?? Don’t lose the escort!!

Bless.

Newcomers huddling together for safety.

See you on Monday night.
