Blue Nose go to Scarborough

The Blue Nose Racers decided to camp at the Oliver’s Mount Circuit.  Poppy commandeered the bunk over the cooker and was late up.  He had been a bit late getting his entry in but found that he wasn’t qualified to race in the Gold Cup.

Once they managed to prize Poppy out of bed the rest of the Blue Nose Racers sat on top of the camper and watched Guy Plater racing around.  Later Guy was seen in a private meeting with Hector!

A rumour started that Hector was trying to sign Guy for the next season and Poppy was out!!  Poppy wasn’t too happy about this, so he went off to talk to Guy’s old team, or thought that he had.

Poppy came back to get his bike.

He and Nellie were off to another team.  When Hector asked him about it he said that he had signed for ‘Optrex Onda’.  Hector fell about laughing and said that Guy raced with ‘Hydrex Honda!’  Poppy said ‘oh, what am I supposed to do with these?’  He produced a pair of contact lenses.  Part of the deal was that he had to use the new Optrex contact lenses.  Hector said that he would show him what to do with them.  Later, as Poppy wandered up the paddock, he asked Guy if contact lenses were supposed to make you walk funny.

Poppy and Guy decided to sort things out.  They went off to watch the racing at farm bends.  They were sat on the fence when

Guy farted and blew himself off, down the bank and onto the edge of the track.

The Chief Sector Marshal had to pick him up and toss him back over the fence.  To his embarrassment he got banned from the circuit so he couldn’t sign with Hector for next season because Hector only wanted him for the international races!!  The pair of them were only allowed to watch the races under supervision from then on.

Bit embarrassing really.

Suddenly the generator started to splutter.  Hector shouted that they needed some petrol quick so the tyre warmers wouldn’t go cold. Poppy said that he knew where there was some petrol.

The generator was working lovely when Dave Clarke had to scoot his bike into the paddock because he had run out of petrol??
