Practice.

Practice got underway on Saturday.  I did 2 laps at 96 mph and 95 mph.  Fog on the mountain didn’t fell I rode well.  I was a bit tense.  I was almost off at Ballaugh on Lap 1!! A front wheel landing.

Monday Night was wet and windy so out on Vinegar on intermediates. Did 2 laps

93.250 on 2nd lap, which put me 17th fastest.

Tuesday Night.  Can Tuesday be the night I do it?  Good conditions out on Salt

first lap 22.41 @ 99.733mph

Second lap 22.36 @ 100.221mph

Well Folk’s we have done it at last…Let’s Party

Wednesday night. This was a good night.  Let’s move things on.   I did 3 laps tonight on Salt.  Conditions were very good.  I did,

First lap 99.375 mph

2nd lap 100.148 mph

3rd lap 101.098 mph

I still had 1.5 lts left in the tank!  Night Salt!

Thursday night.  I gave Salt a ‘night off’.  I did just tow laps on Vinegar at

 99.138 mph and 100.855mph

Wasn’t bad on the standard engine.  I was a lot faster over the mountain tonight

.

Friday night.  I was back on Salt tonight in good conditions.  We only got to Ballick when Salt came to a stop and locked up!!  I got him back to the paddock and swapped engines over.  I stripped the engine and it has spun a big end shell.  Back to ‘God’

Saturday Night.  Just one lap on Salt/Vinegar,  Oil on the circuit from Braddan to Kirkmichael, then it started to rain.  I did a steady lap of 88 mph.  that’s it till race day.  Back to work Monday Folks.

Race Day

The race start was delayed due to fog.  It got underway at 11.15 am.

I didn’t get a good start, Gary Fowler, my start mate, was off down Bray Hill as I got the front wheel back down on the road surface.

First Lap 99.114 mph.

Not the best of starts.

Second lap 99.296 mph

I was all over the place from Kerrymoare to Milntown.  I found myself out of the seat everywhere.

Third lap 98.491

I ws going to do apit stop at the end of the third lap.  A good pit stop by the boys’ before getting away again.  As I reached Braddan Bridge Salt got cut out!.  I pulled in by the Church, with a bit of messing Salt sparked into life!  It was just a case of getting it home now!

We did it in 44th Place.

A bit upset with the race.  I could have done better but all in all not a bad GP.

Atleast, NO MORE MR WHIPPY!!
