Bring back poppy

Poppy Returns

Poppy had signed up with ‘Optrex Onda’ so he had to honour his contract because he could not find a way out of it.  He had do the last meeting at Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.  He was booked on the ferry to Heysham so his mates took him down there  to wave him off.

Nellie, Teppi and Tunis sat with Poppy until it was time to board the

Ben-my- Chree.  Tunis was a bit amazed at the size of Poppy’s bag.  He said it was because he was taking his helmet, leathers and Bagpuss’ spare toolbox.  If they told him he’d sort em out when he got back.  They all promised to keep quiet.  Soon it was time for poppy to check- in.

Then after a tearful good bye  poppy pootled off to find a spot on the ferry.  He got comfortable next to the shop.

He decided to buy some pressies for his  mates.

Then he changed his mind because he only had a pound for the trip.

He had had to go over a day early because the weather was going to be bad.  Optrex had booked him into the Travelodge for the night.  He was pleased with his room.

Poppy slipped his top of, got naked and slid between the sheets.  He did wonder if he should sell the photos to ‘Hello’ magazine?

Meanwhile, The rest of the Blue Nose Crew decided that they had to get Poppy out of his contract.  They decided to save up and buy him out.  The girls went up to search Zoe and came up with £260 out of the ashtray.  They all got very excited until Hector pointed out that they had put the decimal  point in the wrong place.  It was £2.60 out of Curly’s emergency fund and they would be in trouble when she found out!!

Then Teppi suggested that they help Bagpuss build the new porch.  Bday got excited, he said that he loved cars!!

They negotiated £10.00 and hour with bagpus, but he said the deimal point was in the wrong place again.  The Blue nose have trouble with their points a lot, so they had to settle for £1.oo.

Bagpuss set them off cutting the wood.  The saw got stuck so Teppi said that Spanner was good underneath machinery so he pushed him under the blade to look.

Luckily Bagpuss caught them before Tunis brought the saw down.  He said it was a health and safety issue and set them on putting the wood together.

Bday wasn’t tall enough to pass the wood up, Tunis was giving him  gip about it so Bagpuss asked which one of them was artistic?

Tunis said that Poppy reconed he was a ‘piss artist’ would that do?

Bagpuss said that would do and gave him a brush to paint the  thing with.

Not that he was much good with it!!  Teppi wasn’t being much help either so Bagpuss suggested he do some plainning.

Teppi thought this was great fun, so the others joined him.  He thought it would make a great sidecar.

Spanner thought that wheels would be a lot more efficient.  By the time they had shuffled up and down they had planed the sill to half its thickness.  Bagpuss had had enough and sent them packing.  They demanded their £1.oo but he said they had only been working for ten minutes !! He gave them a £1.00 for their cheek.

They added up everything and they had £3.60.  Tunis grovelled in the back of the chair and came up with something.

Hector pointed out that it was a washer and wasn’t sure that it was actually legal tender.  Tunis said that he would put it in the bank instead then!!

Poppy got dropped off in a taxi back at the cottage.

He felt a bit sorry for himself.

He had been sacked because he had fallen off twice in practice, once in the race and once in the holding bay.  He could not see properly with the contact lenses he had to wear as part of the contract, because they belonged to the previous rider!! He had run over a scrutineer in the holding bay so that was the last straw. (She wasn’t hurt, luckily).

The ‘Optrex’ team had paid him off.  He had  met a little Spanish guy who sold him an ex-pg bike or something.  It was a bargine, he had said it had been down the road a few times but Poppy thought that was ok as he had been down the road a couple of times himself.

Hector suddenly became Poppy’s best friend and welcomed him back as Blue Nose’s premier rider.  Guy Plater came sniffing around but spanner, Tunis and Nellie told him to clear off.  Poppy was back!!

Everyone was very happy and decided to go to the pub with the money they had got together to celebrate since they didn’t need it to bail Poppy out.

Hector said that they would be in trouble  if  they didn’t put Curly’s savings back. Poppy wasn’t bothered  in the end.  He raised £30 at the pub because they thought he was ‘Pudsey Bear’ raising money for charity.

Poppy!!!
